    Seeking a Full -Time Community Employment Representative for Brown County.

    We are seeking a Community Employment Representative to join our team of dedicated professionals in empowering people to endless possibilities. Reporting to the Director of Operations, the Community Employment Representative is responsible for identifying, establishing and promoting relationships with prospective community employers within the assigned geography with the goal of matching employment opportunities with assigned clients. This role is responsible for identifying, assessing, and strengthening employment-related skills and confidence in assigned clients and for supporting them in identifying, securing and maintaining positive collaborative relationships with community employers. The Community Employment Representative helps to identify and remove barriers to clients’ successful employment including but not limited to transportation, supervision, and others.


    • Reviews information gained from client interviews to identify client’s strengths, interests, abilities and areas of needed skill development.
    • Develops a vocational employment plan based on the client’s unique interests, skills, aptitudes and areas of needed development in strengthening client’s confidence, expected work behaviors, and job placement skills towards attaining a successful job placement.
    • Identifies and provides clients, training and coaching in job placement skills such as completing an employment application, interviewing, appropriate workplace behavior, etc., to the unique needs of the client.
    • Identifies and builds collaborative relationships with business leaders and hiring staff within the community. Actively advocates for the placement of an identified client highlighting the inherent benefits of employing them.
    • Facilitates client’s placement within the work setting, provides on-the-job supports, feedback mechanisms with the employer etc to support successful placement. Works to remove barriers such as transportation, schedule or other concerns.
    • Directs and supports Job Coaches in maintaining appropriate, complete and timely documentation including case noting, goal tracking, job analysis, task analysis, performance evaluations, and other departmental documents.
    • Provides work direction and oversight to Job Coaches to assure Job Coaches meet the goals outlined in the client’s vocational report and assists in staff training as requested.
    • Demonstrates initiative in developing and implementing new programming to influence clients’ changing needs. Applies knowledge gained through participation in continuing education, attendance at professional conferences, continued research and participation in in-service programs as directed.


    • Requires Bachelor’s Degree in vocational studies, social work, sociology or related field from an accredited college or university or equivalent work experience.
    • A minimum of 2 years’ experience working with emotionally disturbed/cognitively disabled individuals in a vocational setting preferred.
    • Requires and maintains solid knowledge of DVR statues, employment laws including ADA and social security laws and benefits.
    • Previous experience interviewing or employment coaching strongly preferred.
    • Demonstrates initiative, flexibility, and exercises good judgment in making decisions and solving problems.
    • Remains calm under pressure and maintains self-composure/self-control in times of high stress or when others are excited.
    • Is able to conduct his or herself in a professional manner during all obligatory meetings.
